Mountain Mist Haibun*

I was travelling back from Banner Elk in North Carolina to Washington, to catch or flight back to the UK, after my brothers wedding. We were driving over the Blue Park Ridgeway, high up, after heavy rain. The mist was hanging in the air and we could barely see 10 feet in front of us.

mist thick in the air,
traffic lights
come out of the gloom

*A Haibun is a short autobiographical narrative that accompanies and sets up the haiku.
